Our home, updated!

So the last time I wrote about our home, it was when we first arrived in Germany. The past few weeks we have made some purchases at Ikea and added enough to where I felt comfortable posting an update! We still have a couple years here so maybe we can fill it out a little better, but until then this is where we are at.

To the upper left of the photo, is our front door to our home. This was taken from the back wall of our living room. The coffee table is our newest edition to the living room!

Although the lighting is a bit overwhelming, this is our living room taken from our dining room. As you can see, even though it's super cold outside (30 degree's), the sun is shining!

When you first walk in, this is what you see :)

We have a weird side wall that separates the kitchen from the entry way... Useful for Sabine's leash/collar and our keys.

Even though you can't see this portion of our living room, Sabine's bed is behind our couch. She loves to nap and hang out while watching Dad on the computer. Please ignore the box of Matt's stuff that had no place...

A close up of the shelf in our living room. Fun fact, this shelf was given to us by our wonderful upstairs neighbors Danielle, Luke & Liam! Now it is home to family photos, books (HARRY POTTER!!!), magazines, and all of Matt's video games accessories. Going back to Matt's things not having a home, his ruck has been hanging out in our living room lately- pretty sure it's so he can admire it while he's out in the living room.

This is our not particularly finished dining room. The photo up top still needs a frame, but I don't want to forget about it so it's hanging there, just hoping. We got our sweet "HOME" sign from Depot, which is the only store besides Ikea that Matt and I see eye-to-eye on.

This is a close up on Matt's desk. It's the newest piece of furniture from Ikea. He loves it. There is so much more room on this one compared to our previous Walmart desk.

I'm obsessed with our curtains. Matt and his mom convinced me to get them, and they are my prized possession! They add so much more than just scary black to our home... don't get me wrong, black is my favorite color- but our house has been considered morgue-like.

Since I am not competent enough yet to photograph the true color of our curtains, I did a close up so you can all admire the purple :)

Now we enter the kitchen...

Our sweet German  dishwasher that makes little-to-no sense. I always put it on the highest setting and add lots of soap... haven't had a problem yet! If you look closely on our clean dishes rack, you can see the green tumbler my sister Christina got us... German Shepherds no less!

Full photo of our tiny kitchen.

Sink overlooking the high school's parking lot. No- they can't see in through there. All our cookbooks are mostly Paleo except for the one my Mother-In-Law bought me a long long long long time ago. :)

This photo is taken with me leaning my back against the sink. Our laundry room is my least favorite feature of our home, but I am thankful that it's located inside. Another fun fact, our dryer door only opens enough to slam into our washing machine... YAY! -.- We also have a pull-up bar in our doorway because it's the only place that had a doorframe. Le Sigh. Please ignore my wet shirts drying on the laundry hanger.

OVEN!!! Second prized possession, our knives set. They were a wedding present from the Holmes' and they are used EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. Tea kettle for Matt and his fancy tea, Coffee pot for me and my fancy coffee. :)

Close-up on the photo in the living room, not sure why this is posted so far down, but alas! Top left, Matt in a helicopter on our honeymoon, Top center, baby Sabine, Top right, me in a helicopter on our honeymoon. Center left NIKKI! myself and Matt in Frankfurt, Dead Center, Matt & I on our wedding day, Center right, JULAY, STEPH, NIKKI and myself in LONDON!!! On the London Eye :) Bottom left, Matt and I pre-marriage in Monterey (at our wedding location too!), Bottom Center Matt and I in Tahoe, Bottom Right, First Christmas Married/in Germany/in a Hotel.

BOOM! So there you have it, and intro into our home. Hopefully I can get the spare room set up before the next photo op....
